"Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind." Anthony Bourdain

About this guild

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”  H. Jackson Brown Jnr

Milos House

Milos summer house on the south west of the sunshine island of Paros is situated one kilometre from the small port of Alyki, 15 minutes drive from the main town / port of Parikia and 20 minutes from Naousa - great for beaches, shops and tavernas - and a few minutes minutes drive from the island's airport (only three flights a day - all small aircraft to/from Athens so very little unwanted noise).

It is situated up on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views - looking west across the water to Antiparos and (on the clearest of days) ten other Cycladic islands, from Sikinos to the south to Syros in the north, and looking inland to the mountains of Paros. Milos is also a haven for natural life and bird watching.

The nearest beaches are around 5 minutes drive away. Voutakos beach, to the west of Alyki is recommended, though there are many fantastic beaches on the island, all with some of the cleanest water you'll find anywhere in the world.</p>

All mod cons

We have no immediate neighbours, the nearest house is around 150 metres down the hill so it's a great space for gatherings and celebrating life.

In the house, you will find fridge freezer, electric cooker, washing machine, long dining table for six, two sofas, loudspeakers (bring your own ipod, portable CD or computer) wi-fi internet connection, outside picnic table and benches, barbecue.

Bedroom 1 has double bed and wardrobe, bedroom two has two single beds and wardrobe, bedroom three has a double bed. Bedrooms 1 and 3 have direct access onto sun terraces. The house comfortably sleeps six - more in high season if the terrace is utilised for sleeping under the stars on sun loungers.

You will find ample bedding and towels for your stay. Normally, the house is serviced and cleaned weekly but a more frequent service can be requested if required. Our housekeeper lives nearby should anything crop up during your stay that needs attending to.

Interaction with Guests

Private hire mostly except for rare occasions when I am there too, I'd be happy to take you around the island or to the best beach or for a fabulous fish dinner in nearby Alyki

The Neighbourhood

The quiet! The birds and wildlife... The nearest facilities are five minutes drive away at the small fishing port, which has two small supermarkets, several tavernas, bars, clothes shops, car and scooter hire, a butcher and an excellent bakery, and several great beaches

Getting Around

Buses and taxis, but car hire is recommended as the house is up on a hill (hence the great views!)

Other Things to Note

Paros is blessed with some of the finest sandy beaches in Greece and amongst the best in the Cyclades with the clearest water. The average mean air temperature rises to around 30 celsius in summertime and a pleasant 14-22 celsius in autumn with water temperature 20-25 at this time.
Our tips : Voutakos, Kolimbithres, Irini, Krios and Martsello, Farangas, Golden Beach
