"Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind." Anthony Bourdain

About this guild

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”  H. Jackson Brown Jnr

Somerset in spring sunshine

Somerset , literally ‘land of the summer people’ wasn’t a county I knew much at all until my year in my motorhome. Now I’m living there and very grateful for all the natural beauty on my doorstep. I heard birdsong everywhere today. There is no real narrative to this article other than a glorious spring bank holiday Saturday spent between Bruton and Frome in various lanes and villages in 24 degree temperatures just as everything is flowering.. glorious!

A few pics to mark the occasion.

Note the cider pub discovery - the wonderful and ramshackle Seymour Arms in Witham Friary. Let's just say I'm glad I ordered a cider upon arrival. Fab beer garden garden too in a very quiet village.
