#Whataboutme culture has been hugely amplified by the 24/7 accessibility of mobile-based social media. Envy has become endemic in society. Resentment, jealousy and the suspicion that everyone else is having a better time has led to a culture where societal withdrawal and depression are increasing. The yuppification of social media isn't a new thing but it's now all around us. How can we take more responsibility for what and how we post?

When I heard the comment "Russia should go away and shut up" yesterday it reminded me of @Ralph Pettingill (ralph-pettingill)@ talking on Campfire this week about the importance of perspective. Without doubt, this political crisis is a classic example of perspective being needed, sage wisdom being required. But then we are reminded who is leading the western world and how Brexit has progressed so far and somehow that reality check immediately becomes surreal, the perspective bent out of shape.

The value of communities is being written about everywhere now. In the Guardian a few days ago, George Monbiot made the case for the role of communities in keeping us healthy in his article on ‘The town that’s found a potent cure for illness – community’. The town is question is Frome but communities can extend to online too. What else should Campfire be offering, getting involved with and what do think are the qualities of a thriving community? What can Campfire do that would make a difference?
